Make a Sunday trip up to Portland, ME for a very special outdoor show featuring a mix of Massachusetts and Maine-based talent TODAY at Congress Square Park! Helping spread the Boston vibes northward will be Jamaica Plain’s Kevin Micka performing with his amazing Animal Hospital Ensemble. Having grown out of Micka’s meticulously and beautifully layered solo performances, Animal Hospital Ensemble sees Micka using the building blocks of his previous work (guitar loops, ambient sounds) to create huge, orchestral compositions. The addition of other stringed instruments and live percussion, combined with the sheer number of performers (close to 30), helps create a physically immersive experience that shines a new light on Micka’s melodic sensibility. Epic, gorgeous, and nuanced journeys through post-rock bliss.

Also performing this evening will be Biddeford, Maine’s Jeremy Robinson as DRAB PONY. This disciple of the drone is sure to help clear whatever clutter exists in that cranium of yours with pristine pools of electronic goodness. Subtle guitar and assorted samples will serve to aid in the delivery of his meditative creations.
