THE GOLDEN PELICANS, self described as being “Orlando’s oldest pile of trash”, produce some of the most infectious garage slop around and they’re about to release a new single on TOTAL PUNK. This band and that record label are capable of changing the most hardened Yankee’s opinion of Florida! I really fell in love with THE GOLDEN PELICANS when I heard a tape of a live recording (which admittedly was the only thing I listened to in my car for an entire month after I got it) of them playing at Wiggly World, the now defunct TOTAL PUNK club house. This tiny concrete building seems way too small to contain the energy of this band, and I’m hoping the beer soaked riot that I envision in my head is what that show was actually like. THE GOLDEN PELICANS sound like a party that you hope isn’t happening at your house. “Chained to the Dumpster” b-side from the new single does a really good job of slapping you in the face as soon as you hit play and it won’t let you rest till its over. Raw fucking music. I am REALLY EXCITED about this band, and you should be too.
