Something old, something new from TOTAL PUNK. THE ACTION SWINGERS have gone through countless members since forming in New York City in 1989, and although the two songs on this single aren’t new, they’ve never been available on vinyl before. Side A was recorded in the same session as their first single, and Side B was recorded a year later with J. Mascis on drums. I’m filing this under “really good punk that I somehow overlooked until now.” They remind me a bit of THE STOOGES and the songs go off the deep end in all the right ways. Go drink beer in a basement to this single, or to anything else on TOTAL PUNK.
