The sickest synth pop around is coming from up in Burlington, Vermont. I am talking of course about sensuous song sorcerer RYAN POWER and we are delighted to share with you his latest single “The Prize” off the upcoming NNA LP Identity Picks. Ever since I was turned on to last year’s “I Don’t Want To Die” (also via NNA) I’ve been thirsty for more of Power’s infectious, twisted yet bubbly r&b and funk nuggets. This guy’s music does some serious good for your hips, loosening em up and all that, while somehow also keeping your mind on what’s really important in life, really. The mood, message and music are all truly outstanding here, it’s an overwhelmingly feel good glamour with a sweet, steamy finish. Power’s bold, go-where-most-men-dare-not-to jams are fucked up enough to keep critical ears from losing interest but unabashedly smooth and sensual enough for the whole family. Thanks to NNA Tapes for bringing the dude’s music into our hearts, nightclubs and bedrooms. It’s really doing wonders out here. The LP drops June 25 and look out for a rare live performance in Boston July 12th at a to-be-determined location thanks to your friends here at Boston Hassle and their homies at Deep Thoughts in JP!
