A few months old at this point, but certainly still worth talking about, the newest release from Edmonton Canada’s NO PROBLEM is a ripper from start to finish. “LIVING IN THE VOID” is the follow up to NO PROBLEM’S LP “AND NOW THIS” (both released on DERANGED). NO PROBLEM have a unique sound, a little like earlier FUCKED UP but they also remind me of classic LA punk or even fellow Canadians SUBHUMANS at times, but they’re kind of doing their own thing. Raspy vocals, singalong choruses, a little too punk to be considered hardcore, and a little too hardcore to be considered punk, but they tread that fine line well. “What Have I Become” is my favorite track on this thing, I’m a sucker for 1 minute songs, although their longer songs got my attention, too. This reminds me of some of the punk I was into in high school, I’ll get nostalgic with NO PROBLEM anytime. Pick up this EP from DEAD BEAT.
