It’s been two long years since the release of GLAZIN’, the meritorious from start to finish sophomore album from the almighty JACUZZI BOYS. Just when I thought I couldn’t wait any longer for something new from these Miami miscreants, “Double Vision” drifted out from beneath the palms of south Florida and coasted right into my ears. This jam is steeped in the usual JACUZZI BOYS glowing beachy swagger, but it’s definitely rolling in a new direction. Gabriel Alcala’s always dreamy voice seems a bit more ethereal and you’ll find yourself happily lost in far out layers of guitars, from familiar fuzz to futuristic synth tones, it’s all so good. You can look forward to a 7″ single (“Double Vision” is the a-side) out soon and an LP released in September on HARDLY ART, and be sure to catch them when they TOUR next month.
