New-ish band right here: DESIGNER, made up of mostly JP guys I think. The bass player looks like Jon Favreau’s stoner character who befriends George Clinton and the rest of Parliament in PCU. I am actually pretty fond of these two songs from their bandcamp, a release titled, MUSIcsc 20069. It’s an unholy hybrid between hardcore/black metal styled vocals over a punk take on The Magic Band maybe? Yeah I think that’s about right. Sounds like a bit of the ol’ magic that can sometimes arise when music school meets the sound of the streets and rather than recoil from one another they become conjoined. I would love to hear what these guys sound like when better recorded in the future. Pretty fun band live too.
