Everybody and their brother and their mother is trying to be a shoegazin’ lo-fi pop act these days. Well, maybe not everyone. But only a select few of the hordes who do can carry it off well. Saralee is one of of the good ones– Sara’s effortless, washed out and introspective vocals play perfectly off Lee’s beachy backing beats. A longtime Boston fav, Saralee will be playing at ZuZu TONIGHT to celebrate the release of their debut 12″ from Ride The Snake Records. Kudos to the Freak Flag folks for making it happen!

Oh yeah, and this show is a sick double-header: Happy Jawbone Family Band will be heading in from the magical musicland of Brattleboro, Vermont. If you haven’t yet experienced their insanely catchy and unpredictable lo-fi grooves– well, you owe it to yourself to check them out tonight. They’re releasing their first Mexican Summer album in October, so time is running out to see them before the rest of the world gets in on the secret.
