Those long-haired fiends at FREAK FLAG know whats up when it comes to vicious punk and demented noise rock, and they like to share their passion with us bottom-dwellers with a monthly Wednesday residency at ZuZu in Central Square.

TONIGHT they got a couple of fresh no-wave inspired noise-zoids to pummel your ears with sweet atonal grooves. Featuring members of energetic noise rock locals Guerilla Toss and Designer, THE CHANNELS pound away with double drums (but no bass drum), disjointed dark-funk basslines and plenty of moaning. Delectable duo BUTTERCUP rachet up that disturbed, high pressurized feeling with Nate Ventura plucking away at a custom stringed instrument, while drummer Lee (of SaraLee) bangs away with a surging momentum. Resident Freak Flag DJs spin the deep punk cuts to keep everybody moving between sets. Not a bad way to celebrate your hump day.
