Wear some Tyvek if you’re heading to Charlie’s Kitchen in Hahvahd Sq. tonite, chy’all. Cambridge’s premier doubleburg depository is leaking a new kinda cheese from ‘tween its buns and it goes by the creepy codename Teenanger plus 3 gnardog locals. The Toronto band, who resides somewhere within a tangled rootball of psych grit and disjointed punk rock dreams, headlines a bill that’s really more “water slide to the deepest circle of hell” than “punk slash noise show”. It’s still a show though.
You see, Teenanger are merely perching atop a serendipitously off-kilter totem pole of Bostonians that in its summation proves this lineup to be stupidly sensical. Klangy wackadoos The Channels unfurl to lather up Chucky’s rock n’ roll burger slide with a healthy dose of the weird, elaborating on the semipermeable noise-punk dichotomy established by g’rage boyz Miami Doritos and the positively phreq’d noise rhythms of Lair. All this courtesy of your frands at Fast Apple. Get it while the week is young, chickens, and ye shall be rewarded justly.
