Summer is ending, and there’s barely anything you can do about it. BUT: you can prolong the evening sunshine by heading out to the Midway in Jamaica Plain tonight for a three-part local rock spectacular. Cinematheque spins warm campfire-colored yarns just by rubbing his hands together. Boston institution Rick Berlin has teamed up with the Nickel & Dime Band, and his earnest and theatrical musical tales will probably be even more riveting when performed in their natural habitat (maybe Hilary the Galway Girl will even show up). Nightcapper Doug Linse writes songs that are the perfect split between complex and catchy — if you like his new album you’ll be amped by how well his tight tunes hold up when played loud in the foreground and laced with solos. There’s never been a better excuse to stay out late on a Monday.
