Dent May just wants you to be happy. Seriously. Whether he’s merrily crooning cheery pop melodies a la Brian Wilson or strumming a new jangle on his uke, Dent May may just be the one-man cure for your case of the Mondays. How fortuitous it seems, then, that he will be at Great Scott TONIGHT to give you a buoyant boost live and in-person. He’s currently on tour promoting his newest LP from Paw Tracks, Warm Blanket.
Dead Gaze is kind of a misnomer– gazy, yes; dead, not so much. There’s nothing morbid about this Mississippi psych band whose songs are drenched in sunshine and fuzz. In fact, they might be in on the same happiness remedy that Dent May seems to be taking. You’ll surely have gentle dreams of beautiful scenes after checking in at Dead Gaze’s set. Also joining are the jovial Olympia, WA funky folkers Lake. If you dig Dent May and Dead Gaze, you’ll want to hear these guys.
Convinced? See ya tonight.
