Come summertime–especially a hot, sticky summertime in the city where the heat burns off every cement surface, one wants to wear minimal clothing. Like small, denim shorts, for example. You gotta let the skin breathe. But damn, there is nothing worse than getting shit for your short shorts. It’s an issue Boston’s CreaturoS know all too well, as detailed in their newest ’70’s-infused track, “Short Shorts,” so wear your shortest shorts and come commiserate with them and other dope bands at Great Scott tonight. Joining CreaturoS will be Brooklyn trio Boy Toy, who’ve released their debut LP just earlier this year (which is something you’re gonna wanna pick up). Their sound is a reserved, lazy rock, a combination of the lo-fi that has recently seen a resurgence in music and the distortion of the 1990s’ grunge. Rounding out the bill is Tredici Bacci, another Boston band. A really big Boston band. Consisting of 14 musicians. Their smooth tunes reach back to eras past, the perfect soundtrack for slowly smoking a cigarette in black and white while looking out onto a view of Italy on a summer night. Or the trash-littered streets of Allston. Either way, we’re excited to see them try to fit all of their members onto the Great Scott stage.
