CONFERENCE: “LABOUR IN A SINGLE SHOT” @Goethe-Institut Boston (Back Bay)

by

ANTJE EHMANN and HARUN FAROCKI’s  globetrotting workshop has produced almost 450 new student video works from 15 different cities around the world, all inspired by the first movie ever made, Workers Leaving the Lumière Factory (1895 dir. Lumière brothers, France). These collaborative new works are consistent with the original film in theme and style but roam free otherwise, prompting new thoughts and perspectives to consider the very notion of labor – socially, historically, and logistically. Sit in on a revelatory convo with scholars and participants alike  from 11/13-11/15 or check out an exhibit of selected videos from throughout the 3 year span of workshops.
