Count Vertigo’s X Patriots/I’m a Mutant 7″ was reissued in 2011 by Mississippi Records. It is the first and only record released by Count Vertigo, and it’s creepy and dark as all hell. Straight out of the punk rock scene in Portland, OR in 1979, Count Vertigo was a side project of premiere Portland punk band Ice 9. Both “I’m a Mutant” and “X Patriots” contain harsh, neurotic and disjointed sounds that will freak you out in a gooood kind of way. “Im a Mutant” deserves repeated listens, the entrancing instrumentation and the haunting vocals will penetrate your mind.
