BUFU : FRANKIE COSMOS, FREE PIZZA, ACLU BENEFIT, IAN, LITTLEFOOT @ NEVERLAND

by

Tonight, Jamaica Plain’s Neverland lives up to its name with a dreamy combination of fantasy-inducing pop fusion bands. This show will feature Frankie Cosmos (of NYC’s Porches) an unassuming singer most well known for her dream-like vocals and brilliant songwriting, which reads like a page ripped from her personal diary. Songs on her new EP “Zentropy” are delivered with pointed humor and accented light touches of acoustic guitar and keyboard. Joining Frankie Cosmos are Jamaica Plain natives Free Pizza. This trio’s high-energy performance style and dance-rock music are well known in the JP music scene, as well as their shared love of rocking out and having fun. ACLU Benefit speaks truth to insecurities and provides good variety in this show with his soothing deep-voiced tunes, a la Bill Callahan. Boston based IAN joins the party with lo-fi rock that is as ethereal as you can make lo-fi rock. laid back, emotionally poigntant and easily relatable, filling the entire space it occupies. Closing out this packed show is Providence band Littlefoot. Littlefoot’s dreamy surf-pop style is rounded out with beautiful harmonies that will transport you to a beach somewhere.
