Although RJD2 (of Definitive Jux and XL Recordings) may use old-school vinyl records, his live performances are anything but classic. His sample-based music and use of analog synths, electric pianos, guitars, and his own voice make it difficult to classify RJD2 into one single genre. His production is impeccable, and his on-stage getup is often something to marvel at. Known for wearing LED lights on stage, RJD2 creates an atmosphere fit for the electronic age, by using many sampler machines to create complex songs that are supremely danceable. Stopping by Boston on tour before festivals like Governor’s Ball and MoogFest, this is a show any dancer, EDM, hip-hop, or analog sampler fan shouldn’t miss!
