This is a DIY, punk, feminist art exhibit organized by Iris Nectar Studio. It is featuring artists from all around the world as well as several talented local artists. This includes the work of Ýrúrarí (Iceland), Alaina Varrone (CT),   Jess De Wahls (England), Sally Hewett (England), Mia Cross (MA), Michelle Gauthier (Canada), Ellen Schinderman (CA), İrem Yazıcı (Turkey), Christaleni Alifieraki (Greece), Terrilyn Quick (CA), Jesse Schissler (MA), Sarah K. Benning (NY), Kjersti Faret (NY), Molly Burgess (MI), Emily Hiller (Canada), Laura Bundesen (MA), Zeynep Mar (Turkey), Michelle Kingdom (CA), and Iris Nectar (MA). We will also be selling merch with illustrations designed by Aburrideitor (Colombia), Golden Sweet (Turkey), Zeynep Mar (Turkey), Maia Grecco (Canada), and Eric Wyche (MA). Feminist Fiber Art will be traveling through alternative art venues in Greater Boston from August – December 2015. It is opening on August 14 in the form of an art crawl through Somerville at Washington St. Art Center, Aeronaut Brewing Co., and Arts at the Armory. Fiber artwork by talented artists that identify as women will be on display at all three locations during this opening event. Feminist DJ Univers-AL will be performing at Aeronaut, and Feral Jenny, Ellen Siberian-Tiger, and Dent will be performing at Arts at the Armory. It will be a kickass night full of friends, fun, feminism, music, & art…you won’t want to miss it. A portion of proceeds from the evening will also be donated to a local women’s shelter that offers art therapy for its residents.
