It’s Thursday night. You can eat cookies in bed if you want, you can Facebook creep your old high school classmates if you want, but what you SHOULD do is get your butt out to the Middle East Downstairs and appreciate the hell out of the KILLER lineup tonight. From the jangly good-feels of Bent Shapes to the intricate hip-hop of Boogie Boy Metal Mouth, there’s quite a range of genres on the docket for this evening. Also joining are Beantown chanteuse Ariel and the Undertow along with local faves CreaturoS (if their grungy surf-swag doesn’t get your feet tapping…then I just don’t know what will).
Also featured this evening is Boston’s own Kangaroo Court, whose vocalist Sean Caulfield has organized this evening’s show, which happens to be a fundraiser for ARTZ. Sure, you could argue that all shows are fundraisers for “arts”, but ARTZ, a non-profit based in greater Boston, provides valuable arts and culture programming for area seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease. Funds from tonight’s show will go toward this organization, which offers free programming to affected seniors and their loved ones. And if getting out for a good cause isn’t enough to pull you in, consider this: there will be raffles galore, including Sox tickets. Plus, that aforementioned really solid lineup. Be there!
