Winter is coming, whether you like it or not. It’s time to stock up on some zines! Cross the river if ya wanna see what independent publishing is all about at the 5th annual Massachusetts Independent Comic Expo (MICE). It’s gonna be PACKED with opportunities to discover new artists and learn, learn, LEARN at a bevy of worthy workshops, panel discussions and more. This entire weekend is free & open to the public so that you can unload your dough on some of the 150 artists tabling the event.
Here’s the FULL SCHEDULE of activities including panels on History in Comics, Sci-Fi in Indie Comics, and workshops on Cartooning, Writing Comics, Flipbook Animation, Marketing for Self-Publishing, and a Crash Course into Freelancing which ANY art student should sit in on! The Comics in the Classroom Symposium on Sunday from 10am-1pm also looks like a doozy, discussing how to develop the role of comics and graphic novels in classroom curriculum.
Check out our interview with MICE co-founder DAN MAZUR and hear more about what to expect!
