Jerry Macdonald is one of my favorite humans. He is a recording engineer, working under the moniker of ODD FELLOWS RECORDING, and based out of an incredible former Odd Fellows Hall located in Weymouth, MA. Jerry also plays in the low velocity post-jazz punk band Cinder Track, and runs AURORA SEVEN RECORDS. He and his lady friend Alison love cats and are a constant source of inspiration in their commitment to hard work and the living of the creative life. A friend to much of the Boston area art and music underground for many many years, you should probably look into recording with Jerry, or at his studio. Freelance engineers should also inquire about Jerry’s space, it’s truly amazing.
Ten-ish Things From 2013 by Jerry Macdonald
1. high above a grey green sea – colin stetson
circular breathing saxophone playing. sounds like loop pedals, but is live. Saw him at the MFA on my birthday and it was unreal.
2. the banker – we live in sod houses (released oct 2012, but whatever)
sounds like a baritone guitar!
3. clash the truth – beach fossils
4. roky said – dead ghosts
garage/psych/whatever it’s awesome
5. dreaming without you – bleached
their song electric chair (2011?) hooked me, but their full length is awesome
6. demons flee – demons flee
more baritone guitar!
7. – pushin’ against a stone – valerie june
when I heard the i couldn’t tell if this was old or new. it’s new.
8. coming true – guards
9. lindsay metivier / aviary
