Q:
Hello, I know this is already a bit awkward since we all already know each other, but could y’all introduce yourselves and what you do in the band?

A:
Adam sings, Sam plays bass, D drums and Josh plays guitar.

Q:
For people who don’t know you personally and may have never seen you play, can you briefly explain PCP & the Knives in terms of what y’all set out to do as a band and how y’all hope to be received.

A:
PCP didn’t really set out with any specific intentions other than to alleviate boredom. As far as how we’re received I honestly couldn’t care less.

Q:
It’s more than obvious that booking , playing, and interacting with live music is a huge part of the punk community/ underground art community in general. And before the pandemic, I know you all were playing pretty frequently. How have you all been maintaining creatively/ how have your focus shifted during the past year?

A:
Well we were pretty lucky in that we had a lot of plans we were going to get on right before everything went to shit. Three of us live together and we have access to a space where no one else goes so we’ve been able to maintain our schedule as intended. We were able to record and our new tape is out now. Hopefully gigs will be back sooner rather than later and we can try picking up where we left off.

Q:
I am by no means a writer, and already feel awkward conducting an interview; but something I love when I read interviews is learning about new music & art. I want to use this area for you’all to drop as many names as you want in terms of other projects you are involved with as well as bands you think people need to be listening to right now.

A:
I’ve been listening to bands we played with a lot, especially Final Gasp who I’m pretty sure have a new record coming out this year. Other records I’ve liked in the last few months have been the Zig Zag “It Gets Worse” 7″ and the Tupperware tape on Deluxe Bias. The Illiterates LP that just dropped is also totally fucking killer.

Q:
What can we expect from PCP & the knives in the future?

A:
We’re sort of leaving our plans up in the air until things get a bit more stable obviously, but we’d love to put out a record and tour when those are things that can be safely done again. But really just getting back into playing shows and seeing our friends is what’s on our minds the most.
