After releasing a solid demo earlier this year, Los Angeles’ Pesadilla Distopika step it up with their new EP, No Hay Ninguna Manera De Eskapar, on Verdugo Discos. The EP is a huge step forward from an already strong demo tape. The band plays straight forward hardcore with some elements of D-beat. The relatively clean sounding production gives the EP an edge for the solos and makes the use of feedback all the more jarring. Killer breakdowns abound, as well. Pesadilla Distopika has grown into one of the best of the new crop of Los Angeles bands, a scene that features NASA Space Universe and Stoic Violence. LA seems more productive at the moment than at any other point in recent memory. A west coast tour, with LA compatriots Abortion Reels, begins the day after Christmas. Hopefully an east coast tour will follow in the summer.
