Tonight @ TREAT YO SELF over @ Middlesex, EYE DESIGN RECORDS will be unveiling itself fully to the public!!!!
EYE DESIGN RECORDS is a further outgrowth of the already extent EYE DESIGN booking & music video making effort of Ian McGregor. Ian is the man behind EYE DESIGN, those local champions of indie rock and its ilk. Ian is also the creator of the TREAT YO SELF night that we here @ BOSTON HASSLE have been co-presenting with EYE DESIGN for going on a little while now. The idea of bringing local food artisans, local musicians, and local visual artists together was one that we loved so much that we jumped @ the opportunity to be involved when Ian asked us.
EYE DESIGN RECORDS already has a roster of bands whose names you can find amid the waterfall of text pouring forth from this here website. Their starting four: IDIOT GENES, HORSEHANDS, ONSLO, and HARRIS HAWK, who will be releasing their new record MUTES tonight @ TREAT YO SELF. MUTES is also, as is clear by this point, the first release on EYE DESIGN RECORDS!
To get inside the head of McGregor and his new label all you have to do is go to the show tonight. The full roster of the label is playing (alongside art from Eric Perkins, Adrienne Pizzo and Sylvie Mayer… this month’s Compass header artist) AND EYE DESIGN has crafted a label sampler comp for the brand new label that they will be handing out to YOU for free tonight (it’s also available for streaming below).
Great to see another independent Boston-area-label springing forth to help in the effort of projecting Boston-area-made music onto an ever growing screen, with an ever growing audience in attendance.
