Boston lo-fi jangle poppers have released a new EP called NOTHING NICE TO SAY, and it has them headed off into a slightly different, and to these ears, at times more interesting direction. Standout track of the lot is a bile spewing number called “Brat Poison.” New bass player Supriya Gunda brings with her shades of her old band Hats and Glasses’ bass sound, and with positive results. This one is funky and mean sounding and as close as I’ve heard this gang get to punk. Hate seems to be fueling this direction, so keep on hating gang.
