Hasidic mobsters, a hardboiled PI, stoner-slacker hero, and a psychic rabbi…oh, and a Jewish ‘Roger Rabbit’ too. In short, more stereotypes than you could throw a ‘yad’ at add up to madcap fun in this romp by Israeli Film auteur Nesher. Fast paced silliness mounts up as Arnav (aka Rabbit) sees a strange abduction take place and is swept into a bizarre conspiracy. Plays on numerous touchstones of Jewish life and tradition, but the over-the-top fun is just as accessible to us goyim.
