UK producers SIGHA and SHIFTED have combined forces in music making and have started a record label, both called A MODEL AUTHORITY.  I wasn’t familiar with either producer before hearing “Cycles of Violence” from their brand new 12″ MODEL 001, but I’m very glad that I found them. “Cycles of Violence” is a relentless techno track, breaking up in just the right way, and steeped in a haunting ambiance that flows over the slightly busted up beats, and similarly throbbing bass, like a menacing fog rolling in off the harbor. Apparently SIGHA was a member of shoegaze rock bands before submitting to electronic music, and the droning, psychedelic nature of his past can be heard as an influence here. This thing should be the soundtrack to many a subterranean dance party right about now, or something is seriously wrong out there. Psyched to see where this new pairing goes in music and record label.
