A Haircut is Self Love

Who thought self-love could come from

removing a part of yourself?

I cut off my hair because I knew you’d hate it

And for that I love it even more

I used to have my hair cover me

Conceal the parts I hated

Now there is less to hide behind

And more of myself out in the open

Even if you couldn’t recognize me

I am still the same person

Just a little less in love with you

And way more in love with me
