Who are some of your big musical influences, local, and not???
SGC:
Like many others, I’ve only been listening to Japanese city-pop lately. My favorites are Taeko Ohnuki, Casiopea, and the Katsumi Horii project. My all-time favorites though are Sun Ra, Kate Bush, and Cat Stevens.

Why’d you choose RAICES Texas as the beneficiary of this upcoming stream’s fundraiser?
SGC:
Seeking a better life for you and your family should not be a crime. It’s a great movie, but we can’t let this world become “Escape from New York”.

It’s hot in the valley this year! Joshua Burkett has a great new record on his own Mystra imprint. Everyone should pick up the Vanishing DMC cassette from Podunk label, commemorating a fantastic rock band made up of Matt Robidoux, Bob Fay, and the one true Horny Gaga Dog, Danny Monster Cruz.

Why do you make music? And any other parting thoughts?
SGC:
Sometimes I think I make music just to see if I can actually pull it off, but we all know the real answer is that “music is healing force of the universe”. Nothing else does it quite the same!
