Zach Phillips — “Is That Hole A Share Portal?” (dir. Joey Pizza Slice)

by

A delightfully harrowing song based descent into the land of offline, off beat pop with ZACH PHILLIPS. He is aided here (taking a respite from his deeply invigorating duo w/ Christina Schneider: C.E. SCHNEIDER TOPICAL) by that maximum abettor JOEY PIZZA SLICE, of Vermont. Phillips wears a “formerly of Vermont” badge these days, but the state is still upon him.

The song in question (question in song?), “Is That Hole A Share Portal?,” is from The Closest Exit May Be Behind You, an “album of piano songs rearranged for layered monophonic guitar,” which was released by Vermont’s own BEAUTIFUL MUSIC CDS. And yes, that perfectly complimentary video was created by the JOEY PIZZA SLICE.

The Closest Exit May Be Behind You is Phillips’ latest, but you’d do right by yourself to dive into deeply to the man’s massive and difficult back catalog. This song has been spiraling around inside by head for a good 48 hours now, and I think it is beginning to take its toll. The guitars crawl like disgusting spiders over the whole of my mind.
