Wound Man – Fever Session cassette / Rolled 7”

by

I’m reviewing two separate releases by New Bedford’s WOUND MAN since both combined clock in at under ten minutes. This is to everyone’s benefit, trust me. WOUND MAN is Trevor Vaughn from the Boston hardcore/grindcore/chaotic punk band BREATHING FIRE. WOUND MAN plays much in the same vein with a bit more “sludge” mixed in. The Rolled 7” features 3 tracks with the outlier being the song “Dead Babies” which kind of sounds like a PIXIES b-side (and is a DEEP WOUND cover (thanks Bob))?! But, don’t worry, “CB100” brings the grindcore roaring right back. Fever Session is a 5-song cassette with “Trade” being the odd man out in that it’s a touch melodic but, again, the next track is a CROSSED OUT cover, so you’re still getting what you paid for. If you’re the type of person who holds your prized Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh! 7”s close to your heart, you’re going to want to make some room for WOUND MAN.

Rolled is available from Seattle’s Iron Lung Records and Fever Session is probably available at a show or something?
