Stock footage music videos are a big risk. Depending on how they are edited, they can sometimes come off as extremely cheesy and unoriginal. However, when editing is done with taste and care, stock footage can prove to be a unique and exciting format for a video. Thankfully, the music video for “Moton Labe” by Boston natives WORLD CUP falls into the latter category. The choppy shots of stuntmen seem to perfectly capture the song’s glitchy nature in some sort of Starsky and Hutch epileptic fit of whirling synthesizers.

Fresh off the release of their first self-titled EP on DRIFTLESS RECORDS, World Cup have proven themselves to be purveyors of well-crafted synthesizer beats. Keep a watchful eye on World Cup, because they may well evolve into a refined jewel of synth-pop mastery.
