Not too much more to say about WHITE PAGES other than that they have been one of the best punk bands in Boston for years now. Too fast to be a garage rock band, they nevertheless seem to get lumped in with that crowd most of the time. I guess maybe it’s that there isn’t much of this kind of punk in Boston, but damn if these three aren’t in a punk band. Punk rock spiritual forebearers of this brand of Boston punk would of course be THE SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN. And back in the day that band played with all the other punk bands in the city, from the hardcore bands, to the oi bands, to the uk82 bands. I guess the punk scene expands and contracts, because in this particular fashion it’s definitely contracted since I was 15. Anyway, WHITE PAGES. If there is a constantly plugging away band who deserves more attention and recognition both in Boston and the whole U.S. and beyond than WHITE PAGES, then I do not know who that band is. Furiously fun punk rock that always riles up those assembled. On this night @ VU the situation was no different as Christine and the boys blasted through a killer killer set of speed garage punk playing a couple of new songs along the way. Worship @ the altar of WHITE PAGES. Let them show you the way!!! This vid came out really dark, so by making it possible to see the actors in this punk rock play I also was forced to hue the vid red. Just listen if it bothers you, it sounds pretty nasty (positive nasty)!
