5/28/19 — The music of baroque pop artist Weyes Blood has both otherworldly beauty and comforting familiarity, and she brought all of this to her sold out show at the Sinclair last Tuesday. The set focused primarily on tracks from her most recent (and excellent) album Titanic Rising but ranged from deep cuts from earlier albums to a cover of The Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows”. Weyes Blood is a charismatic and multifaceted performer, playing both keyboard and guitar, and delivering incredibly powerful and emotional vocals during tracks like Titanic Rising standout “Movies”. Her band is no less talented. They’ll be back this September opening for Kacey Musgraves and definitely should not be missed.
