CONGENITAL DEATH bring a terrifying precision to the punk game, jumping headfirst into power-violence territory with their neck-snapping rhythm changes and super-speedy cymbal work. They sure as hell have made a name for themselves in the Philly punk and hardcore scene, raging along in the vein of late 80s innovators like Weymouth-bred legends, Siege. Through all the chaos and intensity, Congenital Death manage to carve out memorable moment after memorable moment, without losing the headrush that their compressed song forms are meant to deliver. With other like-minded groups such as Boston’s very own lovechild and Chicago’s Weekend Nachos also helping to dish out blindingly-fast punk rock assaults for this generation of hardcore kids, it would be severely foolish of you to continue sleeping on this band and the amazing attention to detail that their intricately intense compositions display.

Just to help get the point across, here’s a crazy video (at the top of the page) of the Connie D crew tearing up local DIY punk haven, the Democracy Center, from this past April. This bill was a doozey – a record release show for lovechild featuring fellow local thrashers Curmudgeon, Draize, and DEATH INJECTION.
