Hey, who the hell knows if alien music sounds anything like what’s created by the underground techno prodigy, Via App. But her clever, minimalist sampling and generous use of glimmering, space-age synths on “Baby K Interaction”, the first track off her latest EP, 7 Headed, sounds just otherwordly enough to imagine it playing from a boom box on Mars. A hip hop-esque bass line, offset by a breathy vocal sample, drives “Baby K”, and give the song added appeal for us Earthlings.
