TURNSTILE – MOVE THRU ME

by

Following up last year’s Nonstop Feeling, Turnstile have a new EP, Move Thru Me, coming out in September on Pop Wig Records. While Nonstop Feeling channeled 311 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers into some of the best mosh jams being written today, Move Thru Me shifts the 90s alt rock vibes more into early Sugar Ray territory. The funk is more subdued this time around, giving “Come Back For More” and “Harder On You” – the two tracks on the A-side made available for streaming in advance of the 7” ‘s release – more of a nu metal meets brawling 90s hardcore sound. Once again Turnstile’s strengths are on display: dynamic vocals, killer riffs, endless – and endlessly moshable – breakdowns. The end result is a near perfect blend of 90s alt rock, early emotive hardcore, and bands like Trapped Under Ice. Keep your eyes peeled for more by Turnstile coming down the pipeline on Roadrunner Records.
