TRAMPOLINE TEAM — VELVETEEN DREAM 7″

by

Your latest dose of high-octane garage punk comes from New Orleans’ Trampoline Team, whose Velveteen Dream 7″ is a cranium-bumping antidote to the April shower blues. Clocking in at under two minutes each, “Feels Like Nothing” and b-side “I’m So Popular” are both fuzzed out pop punk tunes that are, quite frankly, over way too soon. The shrill femme vocals that cut through the gritty haze seem to help these songs live up to their true potential and up the ante from carefree, who-gives-a-fuck punk rock to distinct badassery.

Man, I can’t wait to hear more from this band, and from the New Orleans underground scene in general. If you like Velveteen Dream check out Trampoline Team’s also great, somewhat surf-ier 2013 release, Mike Life Crisis, on Bandcamp.

Download Velveteen Dream on Bandcamp or get your grubby little paws on one of the 300 7″s from Pelican Pow Wow before they’re gone forever.
