Another great hardcore release from California, this demo from Santa Ana’s TOZCOS is full of aggressive and raw yet undeniably catchy punk. While never getting particularly melodic, there is a bounce in Tozcos’ nearly-constant 1-2 drumbeat that makes these songs just stick with you. The shouted Spanish language vocals are highly energetic and super catchy; furious and raw yet relatively sparse enough to make space for interesting instrumental parts, especially some very heavy bass lines. The tape is over in a flash, and I’ve been playing it over and over. Check out the first track ‘Obscuridad Eterna’ below and pick it up from Overdose Records.
