After weeks and weeks of throwing down at the most badass screetch-punk and stoned-out psychedelicious electro jams, it just feels right to come home to a no-bullcrap dancefest to the tune of old-school stomp rock. The whole of the Greater Boston Area seems to share that sentiment tonight, so a few of our local heroes have rallied the troops for a hell-raising rip of rock’n’roll down in Cambridge @ TT The Bear’s. Ass-shakin’ favorites NEEDY VISIONS (piloted by Hassle creators Sam Potrykus and Dan Shea) bring the classic proto-punk foooonk, contrasting with the stripped down and heartbreak-y crunch grooves of BABYDRIVER, sounding like a grizzled and weary Gaslight Anthem. Throwback indie bangers MARCONI bring the earthy taste of the Dust Bowl out of the Great Depression and soup it up with undeniable melodies and jangly guitar swipes. Finally, FACES ON FILM come bouncing through on a cresting wave of grown-up fuzzy huggy pop, sprinkled with snippets of snarling attitude every so often. When friend-bands come together amazing things can happen, so I hope that all of us at the HASSLE will see you here tonight. @ TT’s in Cambridge, $8 at 9pm and only 18+. A thousand thank yous to Sippy Cup Everything for always bringing the real siiiiiiickness to our music scene. Don’t miss out!
