Tin Flowers – Sound Museum Demos

by

The energy given off by Tin Flowers’ riotous demos is identical to the energy you’d feel at a live show. “Searchers,” the first of six demo tracks, embodies that electricity with sharp guitar licks that rip through the full and edgy vocals of Conor Crockford and driving bass and drum lines.

“Dying Young” captures sadness and uncertainty. Meanwhile, “The One You Need” aspires to drive you into angered, paranoid insanity. The aggressive and straight-forward sound of the song sends you directly down that chaotic path in under three minutes. “Drowning World” plummets you into a spacey and melodious state of dread. And yet Tin Flowers make all of these things seem hopeful and appealing with catchy riffs and charged melodies. It’s the perfect recipe that causes Sound Museum Demos to be musically infectious.

By the time you reach the effortlessly cool final track, “Shimmer,” you become hooked on Tin Flowers’ sound, where the angst of early ‘90’s rock is infused into the electric new wave sound. What you’re left with is a collection of demos that leave you yearning to experience that wonderfully distinctive sound combination live.
