Hello Experimenters!

I’m writing to you for the beginning of the end of the spring semester and my first year at Penn State. In some ways, I thought I’d never get here and in others it feels like I blinked in October, and it was April. It has been a crazy year, but all in all a really good crazy.

The end of the semester does mean the end of Tusha’s stint as newsletter collaborator. Please send your thanks and encouragement to Tusha. I’m not sure that this project would have been released so regularly, consistently, and neatly without her tireless efforts. Don’t worry, friends. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of her.

Assignment: It’s that time of year, my friends. Time to update your materials. I recommend that my students update their Artist Statements and Bios twice a year; so, consider this your prompt to knock out your first update right here right now.

Journal: What are the last three colors that you really stopped to notice out in the world. Why did they stick out to you? Was something blooming? Or newly painted? Or just something you didn’t notice before that’s been there for a while? Why do you think it stuck out to you today? How did it feel to give yourself the space to engage with that observation?
