The Rocky Horror Picture Show is basically a Halloween tradition at this point– along with every Saturday at midnight. It’s the cult classic that somehow made it big for all the right reasons.
Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon) and Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick), a newly engaged couple, end up stranded near a castle on a cold night. They end up entering what appears to be a Transylvanian convention, with Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry) as the host. Frank announces that he has discovered the secret to life itself with his creation Rocky Horror (Peter Hinwood). Once Rocky comes to life, things get even stranger, and Brad and Janet are witnesses to it all.
It didn’t take long for this film to catch on as a midnight movie, and that’s what makes it so fitting for Halloween. Tim Curry is a standout delight, and odds are you’ll be singing at least one of these songs on your way home.
