Remember your first band? Just a couple of friends hanging out in a basement making music, goofing off and having fun? The music probably wasn’t as good as you remember it but maybe gave you the spark to become a better musician. The Laces are just like that except they know they’re way around a song.

From their bandcamp it appears they’re teenagers but don’t take that as a negative because there’s something special about making music this natural and unpretentious. In the hands of another band titles like “Have a good time” and “Rock and roll baby” would be suspect for sarcasm or hints of irony but here it seems genuine which makes it all the more refreshing and enjoyable. Creating a dirty lo fi sound without a song over the 3 minute mark The Laces remind of that initial joy when you first pick up an instrument.
