Very cool new song and video from Western MA underground rock heroes TAXIDERMISTS. “Be 1”, and the band’s whole approach really, live at the intersection of tuned out guitars and a supremely scuzzed out, heavenly heavy pop bashing. In league with a number of other Massachusetts and New England torch bearers/fire starters (your SPEEDY Os, PILEs. KRILLs, FAT H MONTHs, FLORIDA=Ds, etc.) but standing apart on their own island of awesome, TAXIDERMISTS offer you a ride in their vehicle painted in all sorts of different ’90s indie rock sounds, but they have the keys, and they are most certainly driving.

Driving where now? Probably a field (see video) somewhere or some shit like that (they are from W MA), but that doesn’t really matter. HONESTY BOX (the bands new record on TELEGRAPH HARP) is on the stereo and its quiet valleys and screeching mountains of sound deliver in 2015 a raw and fresh rock perspective. Two dudes, Cooper and Sal, injecting that decaying rock corpse once more with some of that formula that keeps the flesh from rotting (I forget what it’s called). “Be 1” arrives first, in video form (above).
