DS:
Can you please tell me more about Free Witch Press?

Free Witch Press:
Fwp is a tiny diy publishing project. We started for poetry but any sort of raw personal expression is good. Most of our stuff is made on the photocopier.

DS:
Want to some of your latest releases?

FWP:
This winter we have a pretty radical calendar coming out.  4 day weekends every weekend.  20 artists worked on it. A lot of conceptual stuff about how the way we mark time shapes us. Some funny bits too.  Lily Fein made a looseleaf ceramic book.  We have an art poster by Kerstin Millnamow.  This spring we’ve got a full length poetry book by Gem Rosenberg to release.

DS:
And this winter solstice event!? Who is playing and what’s going down?

FWP:
Side Body is a new band with some good musicians I’m really interested to see what they’ve come up with.  Becca Kauffman always has some quality weird stuff up her sleeve.  There are some convos about the releases.  It’s going to be a good mix. Have your tea and have your whiskey.  You might want to pour them in the same cup.

DS:
I really like the idea that you’re going call ins. Why should folks call into the show??

FWP:
Radio is risky because you don’t know if there are two people listening or 200. Call in and see what happens.

DS:
Very cool to see siblings working together, what’s next for each of you??

FWP:
Working with James is good because we can start in the middle and end in the middle.  We don’t have to talk about everything to get it right.

I’m releasing Gem’s poetry book this spring.  Her work is really, really good.  I don’t say that about poetry much.  Then I would love to do a translation after that.  And a lot more with risograph.

The full line up for (this solstice show) is: the glue (USA) Emma Bones (OH), Jachary (NY), side body (MA), the whip appeal (USA), Hannah Barbarian, Becca Kaufman, David Williams,  and Gem Rosenberg (NY)

Poets in conversation (world)
