The ladies behind fuzz-punk acts Slutever and Girlpool have put out an excellent split tape. Though the cassettes were only physically available on their recent East coast tour, the entire split is up on both of their bandcamp pages. The four song tapes feature one original song and one cover of the other band’s material.

The tape starts with Girlpool’s cover of “White Flag”, Slutever’s single that dropped over the summer. Whereas Slutever’s version is fast-paced and features their typical punky vocals, Girlpool strips the track down to simple guitar strums and soft vocals that give it a completely different feel. The girls follow up with “This Place”, a catchy song with some Warpaint-esque yelping and vocals.

Slutever open their side of the split with a bratty cover of “Blah Blah Blah”, a cut from Girlpool’s upcoming EP. Following this is “Stomach Ache”, a garage-pop track with a perfect balance of fuzz and angst. Overall, this split is killer and both bands play off of each other’s vibes in the best way possible.
