SEA OF SHIT / SICK/TIRED – SPLIT

by

Coming out in May on Deep Six Records, along with a new LP by crust-grind legends Extreme Noise Terror, is a split from two of Chicago’s finest: Sick/Tired and Sea Of Shit. If you are at all familiar with Deep Six, you should have a pretty good idea of what you can expect from this slab. Sea Of Shit bash you on the head with nine tracks of noise-soaked powerviolence while on the b-side Sick/Tired blast through 12 tracks of powerviolence-influenced grindcore. The breakdowns and sludge exuded by Sea Of Shit compliment the ferocity of Sick/Tired’s unrelenting assault, although neither band is afraid to indulge in noise atmospherics. Both bands are in top form and highlight both the similarities and distinctions in their approaches to two well-worn genres. This is a strong follow up to Sick/Tired’s 2014 LP, Dissolution, which for those of you keeping score at home, was one of the best grindcore albums of the last few years. So, yeah, it’s moshalicious. Go Cubs?
