New Jersey trio Screaming Females is about a decade old and is bursting to the seams with accolades from their peers. With high praise coming from the Village Voice and SPIN, there’s a reason why over 33,000 people like them on their official Facebook page. Because they’re like, really good. Their most recent recording Rose Mountain, is the band’s sixth full length album, and it features the single Ripe, which is worth all of its three minutes and ten seconds. It’s catchy punk rock that hooks listeners right from the get-go. With a tinge of ’90s metal guitar, Marissa Paternoster dares you to “peel the skin raw.”
