SCOTT MIZRACHI — FOOLISH WISDOM

by

Normally, I make a habit of reviewing garage rock/punk/other things on the noisier end of the spectrum, but every once in a while something a little less raucous catches my ear and I feel the need to share it with you guys. Such is the case with “Foolish Wisdom,” a recent EP recorded at JP’s Squirrel Cafe from Boston singer/songwriter Scott Mizrachi.

Mizrachi’s gentle folk is the musical equivalent of comfort food– it just makes you feel good inside, even if it’s hard to explain why. On each track, Mizrachi’s vocals are soft but never wavering, making them a apt match for his melodious, tranquil guitar lines. “Foolish Wisdom” is the long summer walk in the country you need after a long, dark, freezing winter in the city.

Check it out streaming below, and download it (free!) on Bandcamp, or grab the physical release from Whitehaus Family Record.
